A PlayStation 5 version of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster is currently in development, crim founder and game director Sawaki Takeyasu said during a Denfaminicogamer creator talk live stream at Tokyo Game Show 2024.
During the exchange, Denfaminicogamer mentioned that since Takeyasu holds the rights to El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, he can handle the property however he likes. For example, instead of focusing solely on potential sales, like “if we do this, we’ll make this much money,” he can also use the property in ways that could raise its popularity.
Takeyasu responded, “That’s right, I can say whatever I want. For example, I’m saying this for the first time, but it’s completely fine for me to say right now that we’re making a PlayStation 5 version of El Shaddai.”
Denfaminico quickly replied, “That’s a world premiere! Is it OK to say that on this program?”
Takeyasu remarked, “I just thought of it, and now I can say it. That’s the benefit of holding the rights.”
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster is currently available for Switch and PC via Steam. The original game, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, is available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
