Artexpo New York 2024: The Innovative Art Fair You Will Love
Resurrect Studio (Jean David & Nancy Wu)
Jean David and Nancy Wu (Resurrect Studio) are inspired by things that other people discard. While collecting shards of glass at a landfill beach, they realized they could be used as an art medium. The duo started incorporating their findings into two-dimensional pieces, which led to the creation of beautiful glass sculptures reminiscent of stained glass. With names like “Tropic Haze,” “Lotus,” and “Expecting,” these pieces breathe new life into the objects that were forgotten by the world.
Kakha Esebua
Kakha Esebua, an established artist from Georgia, creates figurative paintings that border the subtle line between reality and imagination. Inspired by Post-Avant-Garde, Surrealism, and Dadaism, Esebua masterfully combines contrasting symbols and opposing subjects. His works have a dream-like quality, combining seemingly miscellaneous visuals in a way that feels balanced and intentional.
Debranne Cingari
Debranne Cingari is a photographer and assemblage artist whose work combines text reliefs and cityscapes. From photographs to sculptures and paintings to mixed-media pieces that defy the limitations of genres, Cingari’s body of work is extremely diverse. Her art is humorous and poignant, often poking fun at social conventions. The artist sees the potential in regular everyday items and arranges them in unexpected and surprising ways.
Ruben Dario
Ruben Dario is a Venezuelan artist based in New York. A former college professor, he decided to pursue his long-lasting passion for art, which became an emotional outlet for him. Dario’s artwork mainly focuses on his experience of coming out as gay in a Latin American country. The artist recently presented his new series titled “The Introspector,” a collection of mixed-media pieces featuring a personified representation of essential qualities that all human beings inherently possess.
Adam Rose
Adam Rose’s creative process is unlike anything you have ever seen before. His art does not have any fixed meaning. Instead, Rose seeks to capture the beauty of light. Utilizing his in-depth knowledge of theatrical lighting, the artist takes photographs of white sculptures that gain color through meticulously positioned lights.
